Eight acres of formal and walled gardens at Tennyson’s ‘Haunt of Ancient Peace’ opens for the National Gardens Scheme this coming weekend.
Gunby Hall is a National Trust property and in its gardens visitors will find old roses, herbaceous borders, a herb garden and kitchen garden with fruit trees and vegetables.
There are also greenhouses, a carp pond and sweeping lawns.
The garden has gravel paths but there is access for wheelchairs on lawns.
Home-made teas will be available in the Old Laundry Tea-room and there will also be plants for sale.
The gardens are open this Sunday, August 3, from 11am to 5pm.
Admission is £4, children £2, and dogs are welcome on short leads.
