PROBUS members met as usual at Market Rasen Golf Club in August and September, when they enjoyed entertaining talks from two members, Keith Borst and Tony Ammon.
Keith spoke about his varied career, including attempting to catch villains as a policeman in Grimsby, while Tony’s subject was his distant relative, Lord Charles Ammon, a former Labour MP and chairman of the London County Council.
Both talks were well received, even by those members who did not share the Lord’s socialist and pacifist views.
Two new members were inducted, but there is room for many more.
Any retired man interested should contact Ben Smith on 01673-842218.
The club is also interested in hearing from potential speakers, male or female.
