Humberside International Women’s Club next meeting is on Thursday, February 20, in Nettleton Village Hall, starting at 10am, when the speaker will be Mal Reynolds of Harlequin Frames.

He specialises in conservation framing of pictures, both new and antique, as well as tapestries and members should take along any problem pieces for his advice.

At the previous meeting, Peter Harrold gave an interesting and enthusiastic talk about the restoration of the ‘Mary Gordon’ a river launch built in 1899.

It is the oldest electric powered craft still in existence and worked in Lincolnshire between the 50s and 70s.

When restored, The Mary Gordon Trust hopes to offer a unique experience for school trips and short courses for disadvantaged and vulnerable young people.
