Walkers, ramblers and amblers have a great chance to explore the wonderful woods on our doorstep when Market Rasen Walkers are Welcome Group launch their new map of Willingham Woods at the Picnic Area in Willingham Road.
The celebratory launch will take part on Saturday May 9 from 9.30am.
Walkers are Welcome chairman Gary Beighton said: “People have been afraid to venture much beyond the picnic area for fear of getting lost.
“With our new map and leaflet they will be able to explore the woods safely as far the Tealby Road and Hamilton Hill.”
Group member, Paul Hiley, said: “We want the public to try out the map and see how they get on.
“There will be friendly help on hand if needed and one of our team will lead a guided walk leaving the Picnic Area at 11am.”
Walkers are Welcome is a national organisation committed to encouraging walking and making walkers welcome in their areas.
The Market Rasen branch is always looking for new members(www.waw-rasen.org) and has plans to make the woodland even more attractive to all ages in the future.
This project has been part funded by West Lindsey District Council with support from Community Lincs and co operation from The Forestry Commission.
Please be considerate to other people when using the woods, use the litter bins and doggy bins provided and keep dogs under control.
