Get starry-eyed at party in woods

Space enthusiasts will have a chance to see sparkling star clusters and remote galaxies at a ‘star party’ in Chambers Farm Wood near Wragby on Saturday, April 13.

The Forestry Commission’s popular spring star party will see award-winning Horncastle-based astronomer Paul Money shed light on the mysteries of the universe.

Ranger Hannah Darcel said: “The dark skies above Chambers really come into their own when seeking our such distant objects and there will also be many other celestial objects on view closer to home.

“Stargazing has become really popular and this is a great chance to find out more about how to seek out some of the wonders of the night sky.”

The event costs £5 per person and takes place at the Chambers Farm Wood Centre, signed off the B1203, Wragby to Bardney road. Places are limited and you will need to book to take part.

Call 01623 821452 or 0778 9942599.

You will need a torch and warm clothing.

There will be a colourful presentation indoors before going outside to use telescopes if the weather is clear.
