Rasen Mail reader Dick Heath has once again provided some stage snaps for this week’s nostalgic page.
And this time they are from the 1955 production of Barnet’s Folly by Market Rasen Amateur Dramatic Society.
And pictured are: back row - Alan Morley, ?, F Shegog, Thelma Lancaster, Clive Newstead, Reg Neale, Steve Vickers, Dick Heath, ?, Gordon Wild, Tommy Scupham; seated - Madge Shegog, Hilda Balean, Doreen Smith, Rosemary Griffiths, Rona Wilson, ?
Dick, now living at Hibaldstow, took part in two productions by the group, before he went off to do his National Service in the RAF.
Amongst Dick Heath’s collection from the Barnet’s Folly production is a ticket, programme and a copy of the original script the cast worked from.
There is also a publicity flyer which lists on the back shops of the town that were to display it, presumably.
Listed are - although the writing is quite faded - Lacey and Clark, Haynes, Hydes, Gordon Arms, Boots, International, Theiss, Eyers, Colbecks, Cottinghams, Brumby, Topliss, East Bill, W H Smith, Watsons, Coulson, Toynes, Cleaners, Flunkers, Shaws, Wool?, Kings Head, Lancasters, Garnetts, Phill Cox. Marshalls, Fieldhouses, Dennis, ?mans, Wyldes, White Swan, Chapples, Douthwaites, Payne & Starbuck, Twills, Noiley Clark, Robinson and Marshall, Greyhound.
