Members of East Barkwith WI are extending a welcome to neighbours and friends to join them at their annual harvest meeting on Thursday September 12.
A talk by Wing Commander Griffiths on ‘When I was A Spy’ will be followed by the charity auction sale of produce with proceeds to be donated to Hearing Dogs and the Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline Charity.
Members of local branches of the WI have been invited too and a buffet supper will be served afterwards while donations of produce, including home baking and preserves, will be appreciated to be included in the auction.
Members had heard of the Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline Link at their May meeting when Jeanette Fortnum was their speaker.
Many children from Chernobyl have been able to enjoy holidays in this country through the charity.
