With the huge success of the Sky Ride local bike rides in North Lincolnshire, additional rides have been added to the programme for September.
It all follows hot in the footsteps of cycling’s latest success with Chris Froome winning this year’s Tour de France.
An extra ride took place from The Angel Car Park in Brigg through to Cadney and Howsham stopping at a cafe before returning to Brigg.
Children that took part in the Sky Ride local bike rides were able to pick up rewards for joining in.
Those aged between the ages of five and 12 collected free gifts, such as a sports watch and backpack.
The local programme still offers a series of free, fun, guided bike rides now running until the end of September.
Brigg Councillor Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for Customer Services, Sport and Leisure, said: “This is fantastic that we have been given some extra bike rides due to the popularity of the Sky Rides in North Lincolnshire.
“It was great that more people could take advantage of the local bike rides and get out and about during the summer months.
“It doesn’t matter what your ability is, everyone is welcome to take part.
“Make sure you book your place on the Sky Ride website.
“It’s the perfect way for families to have fun whilst keeping active.”
The rides fall into three categories - big bike rides, guided bike rides and buddy bike rides.
And it is not just North Lincolnshire that is playing host to the rides.
Events are taking place across the county - and across the nation - all aimed at promoting cycling.
