Caistor Flower Club enjoyed a great evening with Di smith, and her demonstration entitled “Somewhere under the Sun”.
The first arrangement took everyone to Japan, where lovely white orchids were used, followed by Egypt, where there were lots of ferns leaves, palms, Ivy and laurel, with bright orange roses and deep purple statice - this one definitely had the wow factor.
It was then off to the Everglades, where huge cheese plant leaves were the main part of the design, accompanied with bare grass and lisianthus.
It was then time to travel to China, where bamboo was used to showcase the arrangement with green and white and chrysanthemums. And there was also a cocktail to enjoy on the way of viburnum, euonymus and pink roses.
The evening finished in South Africa with a stunning arrangement of palms and ferns, cerise gerberas and red carnations.
The evening was enjoyed by all and Di kept everyone entertained with her amusing stories and tips on looking after plants and flowers to keep them in tiptop condition to get the best out of them.
The club’s next event is at the 20-21 Gallery in Scunthorpe on Wednesday May 13 at 7pm, where Elizabeth Bishop will be demonstrating.
There will also be the opportunity to view the exhibition which is on at the moment.
This is a ticketed event only.
