Caistor’s first spring open gardens event proved a great success, despite it being a cold, wet and windy day.
There were 11 gardens on display attracting visitors from far and wide.
“The feedback was extremely positive and many thanks to all those residents of Caistor who opened their gardens so early in the year,” said Mike Galligan from organisers Caistor in Bloom.
“The range of gardens were magnificent, from delightful mature large gardens to small innovative gardens with wonderful displays of spring flowers on show.”
And it was a successful afternoon for British Red Cross funds too as the visitors paid to look around the gardens and raised £265.
“It is envisaged to hold the Caistor Spring Open Gardens again next year,” added Mr Galligan
“The main summer open gardens event will be held on the weekend of the June 27 and 28, when there will be over 20 wonderful gardens on display. Again the event will be held in aid of the Red Cross.”
