The well known Landscape Gardener and Horticultural Lecturer Steve Lovell is to be the speaker at the next meeting of the Barkwith and District Gardeners Association, to be held in the village hall this Friday, February 27, at 7.30pm and all are welcome to join the audience.
Steve has been a frequent visitor to the Barkwith Gardeners during the very successful 42 years since the club was formed and his topic on this occasion is to be ‘Right Plant, Right Place and he will be giving advice to make sure all can flourish in the members gardens as they should.
Arrangements will be finalised for the annual dinner to be held at a new venue this year, the Community run Heneage Arms at Hainton on Friday March 13, and is being organised by Les Robinson; anyone interested can contact him on 01673 857063.
Schedules are now available for the annual Spring Show too, which is to be held at the village hall on Saturday April 11 and they can be collected from the meeting or afterwards from the chairman Sheila Minns or from David and Sally Ward at the village shop.
Budding photographers are being given notice that the topics for the three photography classes this year are Children Playing, Dog Tired and The Micro World.
