THIS Sunday’s Blues Session at the Hope Tavern at Holton le Moor sees the return of Egypt.
The three-piece UK blues rock band formed in 1987 and is made up of Eric Chipulina on guitar/vocals, Alan Fish on bass/vocals and Peter Correa on drums
A classic power trio of drums, bass, screaming guitars and raw vocal power, half the time the heat is turned on their own numbers and half on the masters at whose feet they’ve studied.
Egypt now applies a broader scope to their approach, easily slipping into such numbers as ‘Viola Lee Blues’, a down-home bottleneck led trad blues, before revisiting some bone crunching early Zeppelin style rock/blues material.
The music should be a hit with rock as well as traditional blues fans.
The gig starts at 4pm and the door Charge is £6.
