This year’s big musical production at Louth Playgoers Theatre is turning out to be a real family affair.
Taking to the stage for Sister Act are a husband and wife team, mother and daughter, plus three generations of ladies from one family.
Based on the 1992 film of the same name, Sister Act tells the story of aspiring disco diva Deloris Van Cartier.
Trying to work her way to the top in 1970s Philadelphia, Deloris falls in love with a very tough - and very married - gangster named Curtis.
When Deloris witnesses him commit a murder, she ends up in hiding on police orders in a convent, where she finds her calling working with the choir, and breathes new life into the dusty convent.
The show runs nightly, at 7.30pm, from May 18 to 28, with tickets £10 and £5.
