Have your say

If you have ever wondered what goes on back stage at local theatres, now is the time to find out - and maybe get involved yourself.

Louth Playgoers are once again throwing open their doors for anyone to take a look around the Riverhead Theatre .

For those who have toyed with the idea of getting involved with amateur theatre, but never quite got round to it, here is a chance to see what the stage has to offer.

But the life blood of the theatre is the large band of volunteers who help with the running of the theatre - from stage managing to selling ice creams - and they could always do with more of them.

“You don’t need experience, just a willing pair of hands and some of your time and whatever your age, we have a job for you,” said Playgoers Chairman Maureen Lill.

“We need volunteers in every area and it is a great social outlet as well.”

The theatre, in Victoria Road, will be open from 6pm to 9pm on August 28.
