AFTER a search across the land for a fair maiden, the Walesby Players have found their Maid Marion.
With just a few weeks to go, the group had failed to cast the role of Marion and director Mike Whittaker put out a plea for a suitable lady to join them in this year’s production.
As they say, it will be all right on the night as Hannah Ardern has stepped forward to take on the roles of Maid Marion and Queen Marion in this adaptation of TV comedy favourite Blackadder, which starts this Friday, March 2.
Two episodes of Blackadder – Christmas Carol and Millennium special Back & Forth – have been adapted for the stage by Mike Whittaker.
And favourite characters abound as the characters prepare for Christmas and then travel through time.
Blackadder will be performed in Walesby Village Hall on March 2 and 3, and March 9 and 10, with shows on all nights starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £7.50 from Pat Dodds on 01673 838287.
Booking is advisable, especially for the last night which is almost sold out, but there may be limited availability on the door.
