ROBERT Powell and Elizabeth Garvie team up for a Celebration of Jane Austen on Sunday, May 8.
No writer, with the exception of Shakespeare, stands higher in public esteem and affection than Jane Austen.
This celebration at Louth’s Riverhead Theatre is for those who have always loved her, and for those who would like to know more about the enigmatic and shadowy figure behind the popular image of bonnets, tea and gentility.
Jane Austen continues to fascinate, because she reveals human nature with all its delicious quirks and foibles. From the rumbustuous delights of her juvenile works to the extraordinary explosion of vitality in her last, uncompleted novel, Sanditon, you will be taken on a colourful and revealing journey through the life and works of this paradoxical and bewitching author.
The performance starts at 7.30pm, with tickets £15, TheatreCards £11.50
Call the booking office on 01507 600350; it is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 1pm.
