Brigg Business Partnership is promoting a weekend of summer celebration.

Music and Pump Blessing weekend begins this Friday, June 6, with from 7.30pm - 11pm with folk music at the Angel from 7.30pm to 11pm.

Go along and listen or take part with local folk musicians playing or singing folk music.

Entry is £2, with tickets from Climatise in Bigby Street, 01652 601753.

Free parking is available from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, June 7, when the Blessing of the Pumps takes place.

The music starts in the Market Place at 10am leading to the traditional blessing of the pumps at 11.30am.

The old town water pumps outside the White Horse and the Nelthorpe Arms will be dressed with flowers, one to mark the 100th anniversary of the Brownies and the other to commemorate the First World War.

The Brownies will act as flower girls in the processions and there will be plenty of Morris Dancing and music all day too around the bandstand.

Also in the Market Place, a craft market will join with the general Saturday Market.

In the evening, ceilidh band, Brassy Sharman’s Fancy will be playing at St Mary’s Church Hall on Barnard Avenue from 7.15pm to 11pm.

Tickets cost £6 and are again available from Climatise; take along your own food and drink.
