There is a toe-tapping treat for all fans of musical theatre comedy as Louth Playgoers’ annual musical takes to the stage.
A good night of music, singing, dancing and drama comes with ‘Me and My Girl’, which centres around Lambeth costermonger Bill Snibson and his cockney girlfriend Sally Smith.
When Bill is revealed to be the rightful heir to the Hareford Hall Estate, the change in fortunes seems to be too much for the couple and challenges their relationship, especially when his Aunt, Maria the Duchess of Dene, sets out to make Bill believe he is too good for a Lambeth Lass.
As his newly-discovered aristocratic relations meet Bill, we see their horrified reaction to his Lambeth lad ways and the looming loss of their inheritance.
Can the family teach Bill to behave acceptably before introducing him to the high society or will he make a mockery of the Hareford name?
The show runs from May 14 to May 24, with tickets £9.50 and £5 from the box office on 01507 600350 or online at www.louthplaygoers.com .
