Named by Chicago Tribune as one of the most significant songwriters of the last 50 years, Danny Schmidt takes to the stage at Kirton in Lindsey’s Town Hall Live series of concerts this week, as part of his UK tour.
From Austin, Texas, Danny has amassed a cult following for his stunningly poetic and poignant songs.
Drawing comparisons with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, Schmidt is considered a pre-eminent writer and an artist whose songs conjure up magic from the mundane.
Danny will be accompanied by his wife of one year Carrie Elkin, who herself headlined THL in September 2014.
Last year they released a duo album ‘For Keeps’ and this year Danny released his latest solo CD ‘Owls’.
Live, Danny Schmidt’s guitar playing is excellent and his delivery is distinctive and exceptional.
Coupled with Carrie’s harmonies this concert is sure to be another special THL evening.
Support will come from Harrogate singer and keyboardist Vicky Whelan.
Advance tickets £12 for the show this Saturday, September 26, from One Stop (Kirton), Brian on 01652 649230 or www.wegottickets.com .
