Paula Baldwin’s Louth-based Big Swing Band is hoping to jump aboard the musical band wagon with their new show Swingin in the Rain.
The 17-piece band will be performing at the Riverhead Theatre in Louth this Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8.
The theatre’s own Playgoers group have just had a highly successful run with their production of the musical “42nd Street” and the band is teaming up with 14 of the dancers, aptly named The 42, for the show.
This is the band’s sixth successive year at the Riverhead and this year’s show is geared to appeal to lovers of musicals as well as fans of big band swing music.
Their programme includes great arrangements from shows like Phantom of the Opera, South Pacific and Chorus Line.
In fact there are 30 numbers in all in this two hour show, ending with a grand finale of “Hello Dolly”.
Tickets for the shows cost £12.50, available from the theatre box office, open 10am to 1pm, on 01507 600350.
