Songs with a flavour of summer are the choices of The Wold Singers for their annual concert, which this year will be held at a new venue.

A new programme has been compiled by musical director Carole Mundy.

The choir has once again risen to the challenge of new pieces for their latest concert, as well as revisiting some old favourites.

Guest artistes for the evening will be popular baritone Ken Carruthers and 10-year-old Emily Burnham, whose mother Janine is the accompanist for the Wold Singers.

Emily will be demonstrating her versatility at the concert, accompanied on the piano by Muriel Hall.

The concert takes place on Wednesday, July 17, in Old Brumby United Church, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £6.50, which includes light refreshments, from 01724 850518.

The choir is also taking part in the Big Sky Showcase Event 2013 at Scunthorpe’s Baths Hall this Sunday, July 14.
