Canadian five-piece band
The Paperboys is the latest act to headline at the popular
Kirton Live events in the
Diamond Jubilee Hall.

Formed in the 1990s by Mexican-born Tom Landa, they have nine albums under their belt, the latest of which ‘At Peace with One’s Ghost, was released in January.

In Canada they regularly play as an eight-piece band, with a full horn section, but for their European tours they play as a 5 piece.

Tom plays guitar and sings, Kalissa Hernandez plays violin, Brad Gillard drums, Kyle Butz trombone, banjo and mandolin, plus Jurgen Littmenan on bass.

Whilst their music is hard to define, their songs are immediately catchy. Tom describes it as ‘Guinness with a tequila chaser while listening to an Americana juke box’.

The Paperboys will be in concert at Kirton Lindsey this Sunday, July 19.

Support will come from Otley singer Andy Aitchison, who recently put his band, The Fauns, on hold to pursue a solo career.

Advance tickets cost £12 (£13.50 on the door) from the One Stop store in Kirton Lindsey, from Brian on 01652 649230 or from www.wegottickets.com.
