A Caistor schoolgirl has been selected to represent the Brigg based North Lincolnshire Music and Drama Festival at the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Festivals Championships.
Elicia Palmer, aged 10, of Bank Lane, Caistor, has been playing the cello for three years and is a member of the Eata String Quartet, the Lincolnshire Youth Cello Ensemble and the Lincolnshire Youth Concert Orchestra.
The talented Caistor Primary School pupil will now represent the region at the Festivals Championships being held at Darfield Church Hall in Barnsley, on Saturday September 14.
Despite only picking up the cello three years ago she has already won the Most Promising Cellist Award at the North Lincolnshire Music and Drama Festival and named Most Promising String Player at the Bradley Youth Festival of the Arts. She was also presented with the Rotary Joe Ford Memorial Music Bursary.
