Tommy Allen and Johnny Hewitt return to The Blues Session at the Hope Tavern this weekend.
The Chicago Blues Duo will be at The Hope on Sunday, August 18; show starts at 4pm and the door charge is £7.
Since they formed their Southerly-North West partnership, their profile as a well respected Blues Duo has been on the ascent, becoming a regular and very popular feature on the UK blues circuit.
Well known at the Tavern for appearances with his band Trafficker, Tommy, has played guitar from the age of 13 and attended the acclaimed Guitar Institute in London.
Within twelve months he’d left to go on the road and over the next couple of years played with two of the key names on the UK blues scene, Marcus Malone and Nicky Moore.
Playing with those two saw him involved in the recording of three albums and performing all over the UK and Europe.
Over the years, he has jammed and toured with the likes of Buddy Guy, Pee Wee Ellis, Mojo Buford and Otis Taylor, as well as playing lead guitar on hit recordings by the Sugarbabes.
Johnny Hewitt has been playing the harmonica for over 20 years and like his partner in the duo has been rated as one of the country’s top players.
