TRANSATLANTIC duo James Hickman and Dan Cassidy will be appearing at Town Hall Live, Kirton in Lindsey, this weekend.

Dan, from Maryland, USA, met James from Shrewsbury by chance a few years ago and since then they have built up a loyal following for their entertaining live shows.

Dan is a supremely versatile violinist, comfortable across a wide range of genres from classical to rock, but it is as a folk fiddler he is best known.

James comes from a musical background and learned to play the guitar from his father as a boy and began playing folk clubs in his teens.

His emotive, searing vocals and driving rhythm guitar embellish the old and new songs they play perfectly.

As a duo they play well-chosen songs from both the British and American folk traditions, their good-natured presentation of the material adding hugely to the event.

In Cassidy they have a brilliant instrumentalist – Dan is the brother of Eva and played on several of her albums.

Hickman and Cassidy stop off in Kirton, as part of their extensive nationwide spring tour, on Sunday, May 6.

Advance tickets cost £8 from the Premier (Holts) and OneStop stores in the town, from wegottickets.com via the Town Hall website, or from Brian on 01652 649230.
