Canadian star to open new year programme

Top Canadian songstress Ruth Moddy and her band open the new year of entertainment for Kirton Town Live.

Last year, they played six nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall supporting Mark Knopfler on the UK leg of his European tour and they will be at Kirton in Lindsey next Friday, January 16.

As a member of the internationally renowned Wailing Jennys, Ruth has played sold out venues across the world.

Ruth has garnered critical praise for her perfect pitch vocals, incredible playing and timeless song writing. Her latest album, ‘These Wilder Things’, has scooped prizes at the Canadian Juno Awards in 2014.

Her band comprises Adam Dobres, Adrian Dolan and Sam Howard.

Support at Kirton will come from Sheffield band AnyTown, who recently released their critically acclaimed album ‘Trouble on the Water’.
