The big band sound always rekindles fond memories for those who remember the swing bands at the dance halls of days gone by.
Now those days can be relived as the Nick Ross Orchestra, reflecting the classic big-band line up, takes to the stage at Grimsby Central Hall.
Nick is committed to keeping the music of the big band era alive and recent albums by the likes of Robbie Williams and Michael Bublé prove it’s not simply a style of music for nostalgia fans.
The title - Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era - is a heavy hint of what to expect from this concert.
As the lights soften and the mood settles, the murmured notes of Moonlight Serenade will drift through the Central Hall; the night will suddenly become timeless.
And names such as Count Basie, Ted Heath and Tommy Dorsey, amongst others, are just some of the golden nuggets sprinkled throughout.
The concert takes place at the Duncombe Street venue on Saturday, February 22.
