WOODY Allen’s latest film, Midnight In Paris, is Louth Film Club’s next screening, on Monday, February 20.
Widely considered to be the American director’s best film in many years, Midnight in Paris is a whimsical, bittersweet romantic comedy in which a writer, in Paris with his fiancée, finds strange things happening when he goes for a midnight walk.
Owen Wilson is endlessly engaging as the main character. A strong supporting cast includes Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen and Kathy Bates, while Carla Bruni, France’s glamorous first lady, makes a brief appearance.
Midnight in Paris is Certificate 12A, the show starts at 7.30pm and non-members are welcome, paying the normal Playhouse ticket prices.
The club’s programme for February 2012 to January 2013, is available, free, along with membership forms, from Off The Beaten Tracks record shop at 36 Aswell Street, 01507 607677, at the cinema, Louth Library or the Tourist Information Office.
