A day of fun will combine with a memorial unveiling at Brookenby next month.
The event will be held behind the community centre in Kent Road from 10am to 4pm on Saturday August 2, when there will be lots going on for all the family.
Craft stalls, games, tombola, a cake stall in aid of Macmillan and a large raffle in aid of Help for Heroes are among the attractions, alongside displays of new age curling, martial arts and dance.
The local fire service will be in attendance, together with Bessie, the vintage fire engine, and there will be a World War Two re-enactment group.
Adults will have the chance to dress up in 1914 style for the fancy dress competition, while the children’s competition category is ‘what we will wear in the future’.
And at 2pm, there will be an unveiling of a new memorial in memory of all the personnel who worked and served at RAF Binbrook.
The day will be rounded off with a 1940s dance, starting at 7pm.
The Brookenby Memorial Weekend will continue the following day, when the Limelight Theatre Group present a 1914 -1918 Memorial Show at 2.30pm in the Limelight Theatre.
Tickets are £3 for adults and £1 for children, with proceeds going to Help4Heroes and Macmillan Cancer.
