This year marks the 150th anniversary for Market Rasen Methodist Church and celebrations begin in earnest this weekend.
President of the Methodist Conference, the Rev Mark Walin, will be leading two services in the church on Sunday, June 2 - Morning Worship at 10.45am and a Circuit Service at 6pm.
Then on Tuesday, June 4, the actual anniversary day, the Rev Anne Coates will lead the Special Celebratory Service, which will be followed by tea and cake.
And all through the week, the church will be hosting a flower festival.
On Saturday, June 1, the church will be open from 10am to 6pm to view the flowers.
The church will also be open between the two services on Sunday - from 12 noon to 6pm - and from 10.30am to 3pm for the rest of the week.
Local folk group Da Capo, Harmony and Wragby Handbell Ringers will all be performing at the Special Anniversary on Saturday, June 8.
The event starts at 7pm and admission is free.
There will be a retiring collection for the anniversary fund, which at the end of the year will be divided between three community charitable causes - The Poplars Resident Fund, the Alzheimer’s Support Group and Market Rasen Scouts.
The Rev Bruce Thompson will be leading the morning service on Sunday, June 9 and then at the end of the month - June 29 and 30 - the National Methodist Youth Band will be giving a concert and leading the Sunday worship.
The celebrations will come to a close in October, with two concerts - Divas on October 5 and Curtis Magee on October 9 - and the traditional Harvest services and sale.
