Festive fun comes to Brigg for the Christmas Light switch on event this Friday, November 29.
Panto stars from Jack and the Beanstalk, which plays over the festive period at Scunthorpe’s Plowright Theatre, will entertain the crowd from around 4.30pm and will be joined by Brigg Town Mayor John Kitwood, Andrew Percy MP and Mayor and the Mayoress of North Lincolnshire for the lights switch-on at 5pm.
The Brigg Lions Christmas Fayre will see stalls in the square and down Wrawby Street, as well as in the Angel Courtyard and St John’s Church Hall.
The craft and charity market will see members of local organisations and charity workers out in force to boost their coffers.
There will be street entertainment for all ages, dancers and carol singers in the bandstand, while Father Christmas will be in the market place, so children look for his sleigh.
Late-night shopping will be until 9pm with car parking in the town centre car parks free of charge.
Once the Christmas lights go on, the public can take a look round the newly opened Phase 2 of the Heritage Centre which is open until 8pm.
“This is going to be a great event and cause for double celebration in the town,” said Coun Liz Redfern, leader of North Lincolnshire Council.”
