International musician set to perform this weekend

Internationally renowned cellist Rebecca Hewes is giving a recital in Tealby Village Hall this Sunday afternoon, December 1.

Rebecca performs 
throughout the UK and abroad as a soloist and chamber musician.

Born in Yorkshire, she studied at Chetham’s School 
of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, graduating in 2005 with first-class honours.

She has since appeared 
in numerous major international chamber music festivals and concert series’, with performances at prestigious venues including the Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Southbank Centre and Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

She is in continuing demand as a soloist and has performed many of 
the major cello concerto works throughout the UK 
and across Europe, with 
tours in Ireland, France and Spain.

As the cellist of Svyati Duo, Rebecca pursues a 
busy international concert diary with organist Julian Collings, with whom she has performed extensively throughout Europe, the USA and Asia.

They have appeared on numerous radio stations 
and have released two critically-acclaimed CDs 
on the Regent Records 
label.

The recital begins at 3pm and will feature a 
varied program, which 
will include Bach’s cello suite no. 3
