Have you heard? Grease is the word for Louth Playgoers Annual Summer Workshop.

Every year during the first two weeks of the school summer holidays, students audition, rehearse and produce a full stage musical in a fortnight. This year they are working on the irresistibly hard-to-beat musical Grease.

The 30 young, enthusiastic and talented young people are not only guided by director John Hewer, but they are choreographed by professional choreographer Penny Caffrey and are under careful musical direction by Christopher Peters.

The show is packed with explosive energy, vibrant 50s’ pop culture and all those unforgettable songs – ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’, ‘Greased Lightnin’, ‘Summer Nights’ and ‘You’re the One that I want’.

The show runs from August 8 to August 10, with performances at 7.30pm each night.

Tickets cost £9 and £6 for under 18s from the box office on 01507 600350 or visit www.louthplaygoers.com
