Go quackers again this New Year at Middle Rasen

Hundreds of yellow plastic ducks floating down the River Rase has become a tradition for New Year’s Day at Middle Rasen.

And once again, the village’s Cricket and Football Club will be holding their duck race on January 1.

The race will, as always, start at 12 noon from Parry’s Bridge in Low Church Road and finish, about 20 minutes later, at the bridge in Church Street, near Naylor’s Drive.

Although a few ducks will be available on the day, they can also be purchased in
advance from club members, at Crossroads Stores or the Nags Head in Middle Rasen and The White Hart at
Lissington.

The owner of the winning duck will receive a cash prize of £100, with other cash prizes for the runners-up, as well as for the last ducks home.

Refreshments available at the Nags Head afterwards.
