A LEICESTER based four-piece who’ve been treading the boards of UK Blues venues for more than a decade will be stopping off at Holton le Moor for this Sunday’s Hope Tavern Blues session.
Regular performers at midland venues such as the Musician and Legends club and always a hit with the Tavern audience, Mick Ridgeway’s Mojo Hand has a history of good reviews in the music press, and come recommended by the “bluesmeister” Mick Pini to boot. With the ease and confidence developed over the years, frontman Mick Ridgeway performs, in his own laid back style, easygoing Chicago Blues classics, R&B, Rockabilly and his own original material, which sits comfortably among the material by Blues legends of the past.
With Mick on harp and vocals and guest Al Sansome on electric guitar and slide, this band’s style illustrates the development of Chicago Blues from the acoustic based Delta style - still plenty of harp, but certainly more hard hitting, foot tapping stuff, driven by a well honed rhythm section.
The show starts at 4pm and the door charge is £7.
