Fuel auction set to save you cash

LINCOLNSHIRE Firewood Fair and Auction is at Revesby Park on September 18, at 10am.

With ever-increasing fuel prices, this could be a good opportunity to stock up for the pending winter months.

Lots vary in size from bags, bulk bags, 1.5 cubic metre bins, to trailer loads.

The fair moves every year to a different site within the county.

Last year it was at Scrivelsby Estate and was sponsored by Jon Colley Forestry, where over 350 lots were sold.

This year the sponsor is the Lincolnshire Limewoods Project.

In addition to an auction, the event includes trade stands, food and drink stalls including Lincolnshire Wild Venison, and demonstrations in the various areas both in the display arena and the adjoining woods

These include: felling and extraction with various mechanised means, arboricultural tree climbing, use of a forestry forwarder, wood fuel processors, hydraulic log splitters, and biomass chippers.

To complete the package there will be an advice centre where industry experts can give advice on all matters of firewood and wood stoves.

The auction starts at 12pm and will be conducted by Robert Bell and his staff from Robert Bell and Company. Details: www.lincolnshirefirewoodfair.co.uk.
