IF you have ever fancied following in the footsteps of Tudor royalty, now is your chance.

As part of their National Hospice Week celebrations, St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice is holding a special Tudor evening in Gainsborough Old Hall on Friday, May 20.

Guests will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Henry VIII and dine and be entertained in the historical setting of the Great Hall.

There will also be a hog roast in the Hall’s medieval kitchen and an evening of traditional entertainment provided by Dante Ferrara, who describes himself as an Elizabethan minstrel.

Dressed in his stunning costumes, typical of a court musician of the period, Dante will be there to welcome guests with his hurdy gurdy, will be a strolling minstrel with lute and cittern, and a strong dose of wit and banter while the food is served; and will deliver a 40-minute finale with music on several instruments and songs.

Tickets, priced £12, to include the hog roast and a welcome drink, are available from the hospice on 01472 350908 or from Gainsborough Old Hall.
