Likened to Bruce Springsteen and The E-Street Band, London-based Danny and The Champions of the World play at Kirton Live next week.

Danny is Danny George Wilson, while The Champions of The World are Paul Lush (guitar), Chris Clarke (Bass), Steve Brookes (drums) and Geoff Widdowson (keyboards and saxophone).

Just back from tours of Scandinavia and Spain, the band takes to the stage at Kirton in Lindsey Town Hall on Friday August 1, fitting the concert in between UK festivals and a 20-date UK tour.

In September 2013, they released their fourth album ‘Stay True’, which gained rave reviews in the national and music press, being voted ‘album of the year’ by many.

It was inspired by the great soul, blues, country and rock and roll of Stax and Muscle Shoals.

Support at Kirton will come from Coventry singer songwriter Steve Jones of Stylusboy.
