CANADIAN blues duo Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley are performing at a Market Rasen pub – after a last-minute date was added to their tour.
The pair will play at Holton-Le-Moor’s Hope Tavern on Sunday, September 11 as part of their tour to mark the release of album new Deltaphonic – a collection of tracks inspired by blues of the ‘30s and ‘40s and the Chicago blues they know and love.
Audiences, critics and blues lovers all over North America and Europe have been blown away by the pair.
Their album Morning Sun was nominated for Canadian Maple Blue Album of the Year award and they won the Songwriters of the Year title. Collectively they have been awarded eight Maple Blues awards.
They have toured across Europe and North America – their highlights include playing in arts centres and concert appearances in Russia.
Kansas-born Chris moved to Toronto as a youth where he met blues legend Lonnie Johnson. In the late ‘70s Chris toured and recorded with Leon Redbone, appearing with him on Saturday Night Live.
