If you love the tastes of Lincolnshire’s finest food, head to Brigg this Saturday.
The town’s award-winning Farmers’ Market will be joined by other quality food producers for the Brigg Summer Food Festival on August 24.
Local chef Nigel Brown will be giving cookery demonstrations and there will also be competitions to win quality local produce.
The festival is open from 9am to 3pm.
Keeping the children occupied is always a difficult thing over the long summer school break, but this weekend Elsham Hall will be holding a two-day Children’s Festival.
On Sunday, August 25, entertainment will be from Nutty Norman, with shows at noon, 2pm and 3.30pm.
There will also be re-enactors dressed as 13th century Knights of England, including armour and weapons of that time on display, and Susan Hartlebury’s children’s book “Sea-Salty-Sam” signing event.
The fun continues on the Sunday, with entertainment from Feet First - shows at 11.45am and 1.45pm - and sheep races at 1pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
Betting begins 30 minutes before each race; proceeds from the sheep race betting to Jerry Green Dog Rescue.
