Christmas events for all ages
Toy service - A Christingle and Toy Service will be held this Sunday, December 7, in the parish church at 3pm,
And it is a time to think of others, as the service is in support of the Children’s Society and people are invited to take along a child’s toy or present for the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.
Items should be wrapped and labelled to indicate boy/girl and the appropriate age.
Lights go on - The switching on of the Christmas tree lights in the Market Place takes place this Sunday, December 7, at 7pm.
Everyone is invited to gather round the tree in the traditional way; following the countdown, the lights will be switched on and carols will be sung.
Christmas at Home - Mark and Hazel Holden are holding ‘Christmas at Home’ at the Vicarage on Saturday December 13, from 2.30pm to 4pm, with mince pies, mulled wine, quizzes, games and Christmas music, and all will be very welcome.
Family bingo - The special Christmas Saturday Night Family Bingo session takes place on December 13, with eyes down at 7.30pm.
Thursday evening bingo sessions continue for the more serious players, with cash prizes; eyes down at 8pm.

Christmas Fayre - The town hall fayre started with the primary school’s “Glee School Choir” and the arrival of Santa kept all the children amused while the adults were able to browse the festive stalls and attractions.
The evening was very well supported and £1,081.41 was raised for hall funds.
The 200 club draw was made and winners were: £200 Jo Bailey, £30 Jean Speed, £20 Shaun Murphy, £10 Clive Riley and J Harrison, £5 Dorothy Warr, Kathy Lowe, G Hinchliffe, Grace Clark and Joyce Bratton.
Variety Show - Margaret Kane compered the variety show in the town hall, which opened with the Lindum Accordion Club.
