Women in war feature at Louth Film Club showing

A forceful drama about women in war will be shown at Louth Film Club on Monday, March 6.

The Innocents, directed by Anne Fontaine, is set in Poland at the end of the Second World War.

The 2016 film follows a young , female Red Cross doctor who helps tend a group of nuns, raped and made pregnant by Soviet soldiers.

In the course of the film, both the nuns and the doctor learn about faith, the disciplines of an ordered life and the demands of love.

The film starts at 7.30pm at the Playhouse Cinema in Cannon Street.

Tickets are £4 for Louth Film Club members, with standard cinema prices applying for non-members and concessions.

On March 20, the club will be showing the 2016 film Little Men.
