TURN back the clock to the 1940s and help a horsey charity.
The Northcote Heavy Horse Centre, near Spilsby, will be hosting a 1940s dinner and dance this Saturday, July 30, featuring singers Timescape, who specialise in the era.
Terena Bolam, who helps to run the centre along with other voluntary help, said: “This is the first time of hosting this type of event and it is a bit of a risk doing so, especially as so far the normal visitor open days have been so poor.
“We are in desperate need of more funds, so we have to try – and as the centre is situated on an old WAAF camp, we thought a 1940s event may interest people.
“We hope people will come and support us and meet our lovely resident horses, enjoy a pie and pea dinner and then dance the night away.”
Although 1940s dress is optional, but encouraged, there will be a prize for the best 1940s outfit of the night.
Tickets, priced £12.50 all inclusive, need to be booked in advance for meal numbers.
You can also turn up and pay the same price on the night, but this won’t be with a meal.
Gates open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start and the evening finishes at 10pm.
