Sixhills to Hainton Sleigh Race EMN-140512-122151001

The call has gone out for teams to enter this year’s Heneage Arms Sleigh Race.

The date for this year’s event is Sunday December 21 and, as always, the course runs from Sixhills to the Hainton community pub.

And there are prizes for the fastest time and the best-dressed sleigh.

Sleigh entries must be non-mechanised or geared and competitors should be in a themed fancy dress.

Most people choose a Christmas theme, but it could be anything at all.

The sleighs need to be manned by a Santa, who must ride on the sleigh, together with four ‘reindeer’ for pulling/pushing.

The race starts at 11am and all funds raised from the event will go to the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.

The annual event has been running for more than 15 years and over that time has raised a substantial amount.

And even if you don’t want to compete in the sleigh race, go along to cheer the teams home and enjoy a great day of fun.

There is always a raffle to help boost the funds and seasonal fayre will be available on the day too.
