North Lincolnshire Council’s library service is bringing best-selling author Cathy Cassidy to The Baths Hall this Tuesday, June 9, to meet local school children.

A number of primary schools from across North Lincolnshire have been invited to attend the event where they will get the chance to meet Cathy, one of the UK’s top selling children’s author.

Best-selling Puffin girl brand author and ‘Queen of Teen’ Cathy will share stories of her early writing days and career into journalism working for both ‘Jackie’ and ‘Shout’ magazines.

Cathy’s talk is filled with her top tips for friendship and daydreaming – and lots of chocolate!

There will also be an audience quiz to discover which Cathy Cassidy character they are most like.

The talk will include a question and answer section, where Cathy will answer any of her fan’s questions.

After all that Cathy will sign any books the children buy or have brought along with them on the day.

“This is a unique opportunity for children to meet best-selling author Cathy Cassidy,” said Coun Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for leisure and customer services.

“I’m sure many of them have read her books so they will have lots of questions to ask her. They can also get involved in a range of things at the event, and even find out what character they would be out of Cathy’s books.

“It’s a real feat for our library service to bring such a well-known author to Scunthorpe to meet primary school children. She is proof that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it, which is great inspiration for children and young people.”
