Part-time potter Jo Slone is the latest artist to exhibit at Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre.

Jo specialises mainly in slab pots and ceramic jewellery and her work will be on show until October 28.

She was a student at Lincoln School of Art and later, in the 1970s, became a part-time mature student. “I was fortunate to meet Noel Black, a sculptor and potter, and had it not been for him and his encouragement I would probably never have touched a piece of clay again,” said Jo.

In 1986, Jo and her husband Ken moved to Martin, near Woodall Spa, where they renovated old farm buildings into a gallery shop, B&B units and a sculpture garden.

Several years ago the business was sold and they moved to Lincoln, where they ran a gallery on Steep Hill for five years.

Of this latest exhibition, Noel black said: “I love the unity, as an exhibition, and the delight when you discover the imagery of each individual piece.”
