With one of only six permanent maypoles in England, Hemswell will host an afternoon of May Day Celebrations this Bank Holiday Monday.
Children from Hemswell and the surrounding villages will be dancing, which is always the highlight of the day.
The event, with a bar and stalls, starts at 1pm and runs until around 5pm.
The village’s 19th century Maypole is one of the oldest in England, but Yorkshire houses the tallest Maypoles - Barwick-in-Elmet 86-feet, and Nun Monkton, 88-feet.
The tallest in history was in London’s Strand at more than 130-feet, put up by Charles II.
