NEWTOFT neighbours James Hay-Barr and Ian O’Donnell are showing their passion for photography in a new exhibition at Market Rasen Library this month.

Friends for 26 years, the pair spend a lot of time together photographing a whole host of topics and decided to take things a bit more seriously about a year ago under the banner of Shotz Photography.

“We never stop getting excited about taking photographs,” said James.

“We have different interests and it is good to bounce ideas off each other and be a critical friend too.”

James’s particular interest is for water and waterfalls, while Ian’s favourites are trees and landscapes; both feature in the exhibition, but there are also more far reaching topics.

While opening the display with their own personal choices, the exhibition will change over the weeks to include images from Market Rasen in particular.

“We have talked for a long time about doing something with our photographs, so we are pleased to be given this opportunity to show our work at local libraries,” added James.

The exhibition will continue at Market Rasen until June 8, before moving on to Welton library for July and August, and then on to Caistor Library for September and October.

At each location, photographs featured will include images relevant to the local area and admission is free.

And if you see a particular picture that takes your fancy, they will be available to buy.
