Building expertise for future of centre

Caistor Arts & heritage Centre is celebrating after receiving a grant of almost £10,000 to support its work in fundraising for the centre.

The grant, through the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Catalyst programme, will be used to attract new visitors to the centre, build a ‘giving’ programme, develop a ‘Friends’ scheme and also to recruit a Fundraising Director to the Board.

“We are very pleased to receive continued support from the Heritage Lottery Fund through this programme, which will enable us to build on our heritage offer at the centre and hopefully garner further support from the community for the work of the centre,” said Centre Chair Roy Schofield.

The money will also help to develop the skills of board members and staff.

”This grant will really help us to become sustainable for the future, enabling us to continue our community work within Caistor,” added Centre Manager Stephanie Dale.

The grant is part of £12.3 million awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund last month.

The money includes £8.5 million of endowment grants and £3.8 million to help build fundraising
capacity.
