The route started at Vicarage Close, where Phyllis Balmforth, pictured above, had made extra efforts in additional planting to include the area around Dale View Health Centre for anyone visiting the surgery to enjoy.

“Gardening has been my hobby for years and I get a lot of pleasure out of it,” she said.

People even bring me plants and little shrubs to use.”

It was then on to Westbrook Grove pond, which has been revitalised with work done by Caistor in Bloom volunteers with the help of children from Caistor Primary School children.

The delightful grounds of the Parish Church, the garden in Cromwell View at Aqua Dell and a new development in Waterhills Court gave a diverse look at how gardens can be created.

The tour culminated at the Crocosmia Gardens, where the gardens overflow into the town hall car park.

The town’s Summer Open Gardens and Scarecrow Trail will be held on June 18 and 19, overlapping with the Lions’ beer festival.
